Abstract: The fields of computer graphics, image processing and computer vision are inherently intertwined. Solutions to problems in one field are often influenced by methods from another. In this talk I will present examples of the blurring boundaries between the 3 fields which I have encountered while solving problems in medical visualization and information visualization, and during the development of interactive graphics applications.

Speaker's Bio: Tim McGraw is currently employed at the West Virginia University as Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering. He received his Ph.D. (2005) and M.S. (2002) from the University of Florida (2005), Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering; and his B.S., also from the University of Florida (1992), Department of Mechanical Engineering. McGraw's research interests include medical image processing, computer vision, scientific visualization, information visualization, and computer graphics.
