Speaker's Bio: Dr. Small is Dean of the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas, where he holds the Aage and Margareta Moller Distinguished Professorship. Dr. Small’s research involves direct investigation of human subjects, particularly in speech and language, and more recently clinical and fundamental neurobiological aspects of sports-related head impacts and mild traumatic brain injury (concussion). He is the founder of the Society for the Neurobiology of Language and a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the American Neurological Association (ANA), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Small is a neurologist with a medical degree (MD) from the University of Rochester and a PhD in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park. |
