Speaker's Bio:
Ulrich Hansmann is currently a professor at the Michigan Technological University Department of Physics. He received a M.A. in Philosophy (1983) from Freie Universitat (FU), Berlin, Germany; a Diplom in Physics (1985) from FU Berlin Germany; and a Ph.D. in Physics (1990) again from FU Berlin, Germany. Hansmann's current research interests include: 1)the protein folding problem; 2) algorithms for simulation of complex systems, and 3) global optimization techniques.
