LSU DMAE (Digital Media Arts & Engineering program) invites LSU students interested in creating games to the LSU Fieldtrip to Chillennium
Date: February 7-10, 2025
Location: Hildebrand Equine Center in College Station, TX
The Louisiana State University DMAE (Digital Media Arts & Engineering program), Center for Computation & Technology, Computer Science, College of Engineering and School of Art & Design invite LSU students interested in competing in the world's largest student led game jam to be part of the LSU Chillennium 2025 team. LSU will provide entrance to Chillennium, lodging and transportation. The first 29 students registered will earn a spot on the trip and will have the honor of representing a LSU DMAE team during the jam. Chillennium Game Jam provides breakfast, lunch and dinner during the Jam.
TRIP Dates: Transportation will leave LSU Digital Media Center approx. 8:00AM on Friday, February 7th, and return Monday, February 10th, by approx. 1:00 PM.
WHAT IS CHILLENNIUM? Chillennium is an annual 48 hour student game jam that takes place at Texas A&M University. Organized for students, by students, this unique event brings participants from universities across the nation together to collaborate with experienced industry professionals and compete for awesome prizes! Teams ranging from 1 to 4 participants will be given a common theme and will then have 48 hours to plan, design, and develop a video game from scratch. Artists, programmers, sound designers and game designers are all invited! No previous knowledge about games is needed, just a passion for creation!
Games will be judged by a team of industry professionals and sponsors. Judging will begin immediately following the game jam's ending. Games will be ranked on a scale from 0 to 5 for their Innovation, Quality, and Completeness in the categories of Programming, Art, Design, and Sound for a total maximum score of 60. The three teams with the highest overall scores will be awarded the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for Best Overall Game. Additional prizes will be awarded to the teams with the highest individual scores in Programming, Art, Design, and Sound.
WHEN & WHERE:
Chillennium 2025 will take place at the Texas A&M Hildebran Equestrian Center. It will start on the afternoon of Friday, February 7th and end 48 hours later on Sunday, February 9th . The exact times are not yet determined, so be sure to follow us on social media and check back here for when that information is announced.
